Emma Haycraft

Professor of Psychology and Public Health, Loughborough University, UK Emma is Professor of Psychology and Public Health in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University, UK. She has been conducting research into children’s eating behaviours and caregivers’ feeding practices for over 20 years. Much of Emma’s work has explored the interactions between caregivers and children/adolescents in relation to feeding, eating and mealtimes, with the aim of supporting the development of dietary variety in children from the early years. Emma is proactive in sharing her research findings with those who will benefit from them. She is a co-creator of the award-winning Child Feeding Guide; an evidence-based website and web app which supports caregivers to achieve healthy, happy mealtimes with their children. The Child Feeding Guide is available as a CPD-UK accredited online training course for childcare professionals and health professionals. Emma’s research also explores child nutrition and development in countries such as Kenya, Peru and South Africa, working with local partners to develop ways to foster optimal child development and feeding, and to provide effective support for caregivers.
