Melissa Patterson is Principal at John I Leonard High School, one of the largest high schools in Palm Beach County, US. John I Leonard High School is a Title 1 school characterised for its diverse student population. Under Melissa Patterson’s leadership (since 2017), John I Leonard High School has improved from a C to a B status according to the State of Florida school accountability system.
Most recently, Melissa Patterson was selected to represent North America on the International Education Advisory Board for Cambridge International. John I Leonard High School has also been selected as a Demonstration Center by Cambridge International, enabling other US schools to see how the Cambridge curriculum works in the classroom.
Melissa Patterson’s educational leadership drive is to provide students of all races, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status with equity and access to high-quality education, with emphasis in advanced coursework while capitalising on the students’ strengths.
